Membership Terms & Condition

IMPORTANT:
  1. The CATO Constitution should be consulted prior to completing an application for membership.
  2. Forms should be completed in full and be submitted to the Chairman of CATO together with a copy of your current colour brochure/s.
  3. The following critera must be met:
    1. (a) Your company is accredited under the AFTA Travel Agents Accreditation Scheme (ATAS).
    2. (b) Produces annually at least one colour brochure which must be published or distributed electronically;
    3. (c) Your primary source of distribution is via the retail travel agent and;
    4. (d) You are covered by professional Indemnity Insurance.

If your company is actively engaged in the designing, marketing and selling of wholesale tour and travel packages to the domestic and international markets then you should be an active member of CATO, the Council of Australian Tour Operators.

Why your company should be a member of CATO.

The applicant hereby applies for Full Membership of the COuncil of Australian Tour Operators Incorporated. THe applicant acknowledges that it has received the Code of Ethics of CATO and agrees, on being accepted as a member of the Council, to abide by the Code of Ethics.

The council has established a Code of Ethics when dealing with the Public, Travel Agents, Carriers, other principles and fellow members.

Membership is an imprimatur of competence and integrity.

The CATO logo can be displayed proudly on your marketing material as your commitment to these goals. CATO provides a collaborative forum for you to present your views. Convening regularly, subjects of mutual interest are represented to industry groups, government and ancillary bodies.
